Bhavish Aggarwal: Ola Group Chairman Bhavish Aggarwal said that we have launched Ola Maps. Now Google Maps will not be used inside Ola Cabs.
Bhavish Aggarwal: The country's leading cab company Ola (Ola Cabs) has taken a big decision and said goodbye to the services of Google Maps. Ola Group Chairman Bhavish Aggarwal has said that this step will help the company save Rs 100 crore annually. Now the company will use Ola Maps developed by the company instead of Google Maps. Last month, Ola also said goodbye to Azure.
Ola stopped using Google Maps
Bhavish Aggarwal wrote on the social media platform X that after hard work, we have completely developed Ola Maps. This is a completely indigenously developed service. Along with this, we are stopping the use of Google Maps services. We used to pay about Rs 100 crore to Google Maps every year. Now this expense will become zero. Our drivers will now use Ola Maps instead of Google Maps.

Last month, we had distanced ourselves from Microsoft Azure

The chairman of Ola Group wrote that we had distanced ourselves from Microsoft Azure in May itself. Ola has handed over its work to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform Krutrim developed by the company itself. Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted in May that any developer who wants to work separately from Azure will be provided one year of free cloud service. We will fully support those who separate from Azure.

The service will work on Android and iOS platforms
The API of Ola Maps is present on the virtual cloud. Under this, you will get the full benefit of location service. Navigation API, Places API, Tiles API and Routing API will be made available to you in Ola Maps. This service is available on Android as well as iOS platforms. Ola had bought Pune-based GeoSpoc company in October 2021. Since then, he was constantly preparing to launch Ola Maps. Ola Maps is also being used in Ola Electric's two wheelers.
