After his arrest, when the real police investigated the details of this fake policeman, they were shocked. Because this fraud has trapped more than half a dozen women constables in his net and not only played with their dignity but also left them penniless.

Bareilly: Bareilly police has arrested a big fraudster. This big fraudster is actually a fake policeman. Wearing a police uniform and showing off and extorting money was his daily routine. He had another business and that was to trap lady police officers. He would befriend lady police personnel, then pretend to be in love with them, make physical relations with them, give false promises of marriage and then blackmail them and extort lakhs of rupees. But this time his luck was bad and he was caught by real policemen.  

Female police personnel targeted in Bareilly

This case came to light when a female police officer suspected Rajan and lodged a complaint against him in a police station in Bareilly. When the police started investigating, the female police officer's suspicion turned out to be correct. The police arrested the accused Rajan Verma from near the Bareilly bus stand. Rajan had told this female constable that he was posted here with ADG Lucknow. Rajan said that he is single and wants to marry a girl working in the police department. The female constable got impressed after seeing Rajan's profile. Gradually, the closeness between the two increased. To such an extent that he deceived the female constable and even had physical relations with her. After this, he kept exploiting the victim for a long time by giving her false promises of marriage.

After his arrest, when Rajan was strictly questioned, it was found that not only was his claim of being in the police false, he had not even completed his studies properly. Rajan is just an eighth pass and to avoid being exposed to others, he used to commit fraud and disappear. According to Bareilly Police, Rajan Verma, a resident of Lakhimpur, was absconding for a long time. By claiming to be a policeman, he has made more than half a dozen female police personnel his victims so far. The accused also trapped a female constable of Lakhimpur Kheri in his trap and even married her.

Loan taken in the name of a woman

Apart from this, the accused trapped another female police officer in his love trap and took a loan in her name. It is alleged that he has also taken a personal loan of Rs 6.5 lakh to buy a plot in Lucknow using the female constable's Aadhaar card and PAN card.

He used to target women soldiers with surname 'Varma'

The arrested accused Rajan told in his statement that he used to target only those female police officers whose surname was 'Verma'. Since Rajan's own surname is Verma, no one suspects him.

Used to extract details from police website

The accused used to get the complete details of the women police personnel whom he targeted from the official website of the police. He used to contact the women police personnel only after this. He used to befriend them and make physical relations with them, then used to lure them into marriage and used to extort money under the pretext of all this. Later, he used to abscond when he got a chance. The accused Rajan Verma is actually a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, but he used to go to different cities of UP to commit crimes. This is the reason that while cases are registered against him in Lakhimpur Kheri, many cases are also registered in cities like Moradabad and Bareilly. The police is now thoroughly investigating all the cases related to him.
