DU accuses St. Stephen's College of allocating more seats to Christian students

Delhi University has accused St. Stephen's College of exceeding the approved quota for Christian students in its revised seat allocation list. DU also said that the college has left some seats vacant in various BA courses despite meeting the criteria based on CUET marks. Let us know what the whole matter is.
In a public notice regarding the announcement of seat allotment for Christian students in the Christian minority college, the university said that during the first phase of verification of the list sent from St Stephen's College, DU identified certain important and worrying aspects due to which it could not proceed with the allotment.
In which subjects were the seats vacant?
In the notice, DU alleged that seats in some popular courses like BSc (Hons) Chemistry and BSc (Hons) Physics were left vacant despite having sufficient CUET-qualified students.
DU sought clarification
According to the notice, the college had sent the list of students selected for admission to Delhi University on August 28. The notice states that the university has sought an immediate clarification from the college in this regard.
DU said that the principal of St. Stephen's College has taken cognizance of the anomalies pointed out. DU said that the preliminary list sent by the college did not give any specific details of BA course combinations, due to which the university could not allot seats to the candidates.
At the same time, it is said in the notice that the college revised the list, which it received on 31 August. DU said that it is verifying the latest list sent by the college.
