Kannauj: A case has been registered against former block pramukh and SP leader Nawab Singh Yadav, who lives in Sadar Kotwali area of ​​Kannauj district of UP, for raping a minor. He has been arrested. A video of this has also surfaced, in which Nawab Yadav is seen in an objectionable condition. In this regard, the victim informed the police on dial 112. Politics has also heated up over this.

What did UP Police say?

SP Amit Kumar Anand said that around 1.30 am, a girl had filed a complaint on dial 112 that an attempt was made to rape her. On the complaint, the police station and PRV team immediately reached the spot. Not only was the girl found there in an objectionable condition, the accused and SP leader Nawab Singh Yadav was also taken into custody. On the basis of the victim's complaint, a case has been registered against Nawab Singh Yadav under the POCSO Act. The victim is a minor. 

The minor victim was sent to the hospital for medical examination. According to BJP leaders, former block pramukh Nawab Singh Yadav is associated with SP. However, SP has clarified that Nawab Singh is not a member of the party. Nor has he been involved in any party activity.

The victim called on dial 112

It is alleged that Nawab Singh Yadav called a minor girl on the pretext of giving her a job and then tried to rape her, but the girl somehow saved herself. After this, the victim called 112 and informed the police, after which the police reached the spot. At present, politics has heated up over this matter. BJP has slammed the SP for this. On the other hand, Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister in the UP government, has called this incident very unfortunate. Rajbhar says that there is rule of law in Uttar Pradesh. No culprit will be spared. Appropriate action will be taken. SP leaders were demanding a DNA test. The accused in the alleged Ayodhya gang rape case should also undergo DNA test here. BJP's social media chief Amit Malviya wrote on 'X' - "After Ayodhya, now SP leader arrested in Kannauj for attempting to rape a minor. During the SP government, the accused Nawab Singh Yadav was called mini CM. Nawab Singh Yadav is known as Dimple Yadav's right hand and MP representative in Kannauj. Will Akhilesh Yadav still demand a DNA test?"

Who is Nawab Singh Yadav?

Born in a Yadav family in Katra's Adangapur village, Nawab started his career in student politics. Initially, he used to contest and make others contest elections in Kannauj colleges. In 1997, Nawab joined SP's student organization Lohia Vahini. Nawab has also been the district president of this unit. In 2000, Akhilesh Yadav contested elections from Kannauj, at that time Nawab's role was very important in the elections. In 2006, Nawab was elected block pramukh from Kannauj Sadar seat. Cases are registered against Nawab on several charges like threat, attempt to murder, extortion. It is said that he has also been close to Dimple Yadav.
