The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that is located towards the front of the neck. The thyroid is not a problem as long as the hormonal release from it is normal. This problem arises when the secretion of hormones becomes too low or too high. Thyroid disorders are increasing in people due to many reasons. To make people aware of this, World Thyroid Day is celebrated every year on 25 May.

Thyroid disorders are conditions that affect the thyroid gland, causing problems with the hormones it secretes. When the production of thyroid hormone starts decreasing from the thyroid gland, then it is called hypothyroidism, while if its production starts exceeding the requirement, then it is called the problem of hyperthyroidism.

In these situations, when your thyroid doesn't work properly, it can affect your whole body.
