Hartalika Teej is an important festival in the Hindu religion. In Chhattisgarh, it is also known as the Teeja festival, which is celebrated on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year this Teej will be celebrated on 18th September. On this day, married women keep a fast on Hartalika Teej for the long life happiness, and prosperity of their husbands. This fast is waterless, in which the fasting person does not even drink water. On this day, women worship Shiva and Parvati with full makeup. This Teej is related to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

The auspicious time to worship Hartalika Teej will start at 11:08 pm on 17th September and will continue till 12:39 pm on 18th September. The best time for puja is on 18th September from 6:00 am to 8:24 pm. On this day women observe a waterless fast, and worship Shiva-Parvati in the evening. Married women are blessed by their mother-in-law by giving them things related to good luck. Married couples who have differences of opinion are advised to take special measures on this Teej. Know the important things about Hartalika Teej
  Once married women start the Teej fast, they should not leave it midway. They should observe this fast throughout their life. If for some reason you are not able to observe the fast, then you can perform its Udyap and hand over the fast to another woman in the family.

According to the scriptures, women fasting during Hartalika Teej are prohibited from sleeping in the afternoon or night. In this fast, worshiping Shiva-Parvati in all four hours of the night gives quick results of the fast.
