Cleaning the house: Before the Pitru Paksha begins, it is advisable to clean your house thoroughly. This practice invites positivity and eliminates negative energies.

Lighting the lamp: The south-west corner of your house is considered auspicious for rituals related to ancestors. During Pitru Paksha, light an oil lamp in this corner every evening. Doing this brings blessings of the ancestors and gives peace to their souls.
