What is UAN?

Universal Account Number is used to identify the Provident Fund (PF) account of employees. It is a 12-digit number, which remains the same for the employee throughout his tenure. No matter how many times he changes jobs. Through this, employees can also deposit and withdraw from their PF account. With its help, PF accounts can also be merged or terminated.

How to get UAN?

If you work in a company that comes under the purview of EPFO, then after joining the job, it will open your PF account and give you a UAN number. This is only for those who join the job for the first time. If you change the job, then only your new PF account will be opened in the new company. The UAN number will remain the same as before. However, you can merge it with the help of UAN.

What if you forgot UAN?

Go to the UAN website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.

Go to Important Links appearing on the right-hand side and click on Know your UAN.

Enter your registered mobile number and captcha code and click on Request OTP.

OTP will come to your registered number. Enter OTP and captcha code and click on Validate OTP.

Now enter full name, date of birth, Aadhaar or PAN, and captcha code and click on Show My UAN.

As soon as you click on Show My UAN, your Universal Account Number will appear on the screen.
