It is said that Tulsidas ji also visited this temple during his visit to Delhi in medieval times. The present building of this Hanuman temple was built by Maharaja Man Singh I (1540-1614) of Amber during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar. It was expanded by Maharaja Jai Singh II (1688-1743) along with Jantar Mantar. Even after this, improvements, changes, etc. have been happening in the building from time to time.

Chhatarpur Temple is located in the Chhatarpur area near the Gurgaon-Mehrauli road. This temple is one of the biggest and most famous temples of Delhi.
