What is GPS toll tax ?
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a system called Global Navigation Satellite System ( GNSS), vehicles equipped with GNSS20 kilometres on national highways and expressways without paying any toll fee . Once the vehicle crosses this distance , toll tax will be levied based on the distance travelled.
Advantages of GNSS Toll Systems
Pay-as-you-use model: Toll charges are calculated based on the distance travelled.
Real-time tracking : GNSS systems provide real-time location data , which can be useful for traffic management and route planning.
Less congestion : By eliminating the need for physical toll booths , the system aims to reduce traffic jams and delays at toll plazas.
