Sharad Purnima is on 28th October and on that day the Sutak period of lunar eclipse starts from noon. If you prepare kheer on this day, it will get contaminated. Even if you prepare kheer before the Sutak period, it will be contaminated due to the eclipse. You cannot eat it after the eclipse by keeping it in the moonlight. Contaminated kheer can be harmful to your health.

Sharad Purnima 2023 is the right time to keep Kheer
According to Astrologer Bhatt, you should make Kheer Chaturdashi night of Sharad Purnima i.e. Friday night of 27th October. Then on 28th October, when the date of Sharad Purnima starts at 04:17 am, keep that kheer in the moonlight. Moonset that day will occur at 04:42 a.m. This is the time of New Delhi. You can eat that kheer after moonset. The medicinal light of the moon will be available on the full moon day on the morning of 28th October.

The second option is that you make Kheer after the lunar eclipse at midnight on 28th October and keep it under the open sky so that the moonlight falls on it. You can eat that kheer later.
