Material
Washed gram – 1 cup
Dal - 3 cups
Water – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 tbsp
cardamom powder
nutmeg, grated
To make the dough:
Flour – 2 cups
Salt – 1 tablespoon
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Water
Method
To make lentil mixture:
1. Wash the gram dal and put it in a pressure cooker, add water, and cook till 3 to 4 whistles.
2. Drain the water from the dal and mash it coarsely. Put the dal in a pressure cooker and add sugar. Mix it well and cook on low flame.
3. Add cardamom powder and grated nutmeg and mix.
4. Cook it on low flame and keep stirring continuously until it dries completely.
5. Let this mixture cool.
Prepare the dough like this...
1. Take flour in a bowl.
2. Add salt and ghee to it and mix.
3. Knead the dough by adding water as required.
4. Now cover the bowl with a plastic sheet or wet cloth and leave it for 30 minutes.
Make Puran Poli...
1. Take out the dough from it and roll it in the shape of roti.
2. Sprinkle some dry flour and roll it into a round shape.
3. Fill the pan with the prepared stuffing and roll it again into a round shape.
4. Heat the pan, place Puran Poly on it, apply ghee on both sides, and cook well.
5. Puri Poly is ready to eat. Sprinkle more ghee on top and serve.
