Modi government is giving the gift of free electricity to the people. For this, the government has launched a new scheme. Under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, people will be given 300 units of free electricity. This scheme has recently been approved by the Union Cabinet.

Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana, people will have to install solar panels on the roofs of their houses for electricity. Under the scheme, there will be huge savings in electricity bills through solar panels on homes from cities to villages. Under this scheme, the government will invest a total of Rs 75,021 crore. How to apply-
First of all the interested consumer will have to register on the national portal www.pmsuryagarh.gov.in.

This work will have to be done by selecting the state and the electricity distribution company (disco).

Electricity consumer number, mobile number, and email ID will also have to be entered.

Once registered, one can log in with a consumer number and mobile number.

The customer can apply for rooftop solar by filling out the form on the portal.

If this happens, the customer will have to wait for approval from the local disco. The government said that once the approval is received, the solar plant will have to be installed by any registered vendor in its discom.

How will you get a subsidy?
The list of vendors included in the panel is on the portal. The National Portal will help in providing important information like appropriate system size, benefits calculator, seller rating, etc. After installation, the customer has to submit the plant details and apply for a net meter. After the installation of the net meter and inspection by the Discom, a commissioning certificate will be generated on the portal. On receiving the commissioning report, the customer will have to submit the bank account details and a canceled check through the portal. The customer will receive the subsidy in his bank account within 30 days.
