Orange barfi is a delicious and easy-to-make Indian sweet that is perfect for festivals, celebrations, or as a sweet treat. Here is a simple recipe for orange barfi:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of grated khoya (dried whole milk)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee (clarified butter)
  • Orange food colouring (optional)
  • Silver leaf for garnishing (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
  2. Add the grated khoya and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly, until it turns slightly golden.
  3. Add the sugar and orange juice to the pan and stir well.
  4. Cook the mixture on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens and forms a soft dough-like consistency.
  5. Add a few drops of orange food colouring to the mixture, if desired.
  6. Grease a square or rectangular pan with ghee and transfer the orange barfi mixture into it.
  7. Spread it evenly with a spatula and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Once cooled, cut the barfi into diamond or square shapes with a knife.
  9. Garnish with silver leaf, if desired.
  10. Serve and enjoy your delicious orange barfi!

Note: If khoya is not available, you can substitute it with unsweetened condensed milk or milk powder.
