Kalash installation rules
Kalash should be in the right direction - Kalash is established and worshipped by considering it as a combined symbol of all the divine powers, pilgrimages etc. In such a situation, it is necessary to establish the Kalash in the right direction so that its virtuous fruit can be obtained. North-east (north-east) is the direction of the deities. The Kalash is established in this direction only.
Rahukaal time - Take special care of Rahukaal Muhurta for Ghatasthapana in Chaitra Navratri. Don't worship Maa Durga during Rahukaal's time and establish Kalash even by mistake. Due to this one does not get the fruit of worship and fasting and many problems start coming in life. On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Rahukaal is from 12:28 PM to 01:59 PM.
Fill holy water in the Kalash - Keep in mind that during Ghatasthapana, fill clean and holy water inside the Kalash. It is believed that the water filled in the Kalash is the symbol of Varundev. After the establishment of the Kalash, after its worship, that water does not remain ordinary water and becomes divine.
Don't leave the mouth of the urn open - While setting up the urn during Chaitra Navratri, don't leave its mouth open, put a lid on it and place a coconut in the middle after filling it with rice. According to Devi Bhagwati Purana, all the Gods and Goddesses reside in the Kalash, the Kalash is worshipped by covering it. It is believed that after its worship it not only returns full of water, but divine power resides in it.
Selection of place for Ghatasthapana - There should not be a toilet or bathroom near the Ghatasthapana site. If there is a shed above the place of worship, keep it clean. If there is an almirah or a place to keep things above the place of worship, then clean that too properly. The best place for setting up the urn is the worship house. Do not install the bottom of the Kalash on the ground. For this, use only a wooden plate.
Do this work before setting up the urn - Without unbroken light, the setting up of the urn is considered incomplete. Keep in mind that before setting up the ghat, light an unbroken flame in a big earthen or brass lamp, and keep its wick so long that it lasts for 9 days. Install Akhand Jyoti at the southeast angle. After the establishment of the Kalash, do worship after cleansing morning and evening for 9 days and do not leave the house empty.
