Method of making millet khichdi

To make millet khichdi, first wash the millet and moong dal thoroughly, then put millet, moong dal, water, ginger, green chillies and salt in a pressure cooker. Then cover and close the cooker and wait for 3 to 4 whistles. When 4 whistles come from the cooker, turn off the gas and let the pressure cooker cool down a bit. Till the cooker cools down, heat ghee in a pan, add some cumin seeds to it, when the cumin seeds start crackling, add onions and make it golden.

After the onions turn golden, add turmeric powder, red chili powder and some spices and fry for 1 minute. Now take out the millet and moong dal from the cooker and put it in the pan, then mix it well and cook on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. When it is cooked well, take it out in a plate and serve it hot by adding finely chopped coriander on it.
