Google Maps has taken this step at a time when it is facing tough competition from domestic company Ola Maps.

According to the report, Google Maps announced the new features and said that this is an exciting time for 'mapping'. The company has also decided to reduce the price of the Google Maps platform for developers by up to 70 percent from August 1.

Just a few weeks ago, Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal openly said that Indian developers should stay away from Google Maps. He also offered developers free access to Ola Maps for one year.

In response to a question on the competition from Ola and the decision to reduce the price of the Google Maps platform, Google Maps officials said that we do not focus on our competitors. However, the most important among the announcements made by Google on Thursday is the flyover callout.
