Gon Katira is often drunk in summer to cool the body. Today we will tell you the recipe of making two recipes from Gond Katira.

Cooling Recipes
Gon Katira is used in Indian cuisine. It helps in digestion and provides coolness to the body. You all must be aware of the gum, but do you know about Gond Katira. Gond Katira is eaten by soaking it in water or milk. Let us tell you that you can also use it like jelly in cooking. In such a situation, instead of eating Gond Katira simply, you can make many types of delicious recipes from it, or you can use it in any dish.

1. Gond Katira Laddu
Ingredients:

2 tbsp Gond Katira

1 cup moong dal (washed and roasted)

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup ghee

1/2 cup dry coconut (grated)

1/2 cup almonds (chopped)

1/2 cup pistachios (chopped)

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Method:

Soak Gond Katira in 1/2 cup water and leave it for 1-2 hours.

After soaking, remove Gond Katira from water and squeeze well and cut it into small pieces.

Now heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan.

Add moong dal to it and fry it on medium flame till light golden and crispy.

Heat 1/2 cup ghee in a large pan.

Add roasted moong dal, Gond Katira, sugar to it.

Mix the mixture well and cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture thickens.

Add grated coconut, chopped almonds and pistachios.

Finally add cardamom powder and mix well.

Let the mixture cool down. When the mixture cools down, make round laddus with your hands.

Place the laddus on a plate and serve when cooled.

2. Gond Katira Sharbat
Ingredients:

1 tbsp Gond Katira
2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar (to taste)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Few mint leaves (for garnishing)

Method:

Soak Gond Katira in 1 cup water and leave it for 2-3 hours.

After soaking, squeeze the Gond Katira well.

Boil 2 cups of water in a vessel.

Add soaked Gond Katira and boil for 5-10 minutes.

Add sugar and boil till it dissolves well.

Add lemon juice and cardamom powder to the water.

Mix well and keep it aside to cool.

Pour the chilled sherbet into a glass.

Add mint leaves and ice cubes on top and serve chilled.
