Friends, if we talk about ghee, then ghee has been an important part of our diet since the Satyuga, ghee is known not only for its taste but also for its health benefits and versatility. Homemade ghee was a staple dish in Indian homes, which was prized for its purity and nutritional value. Ghee not only enhances the taste of food, but it also has many health benefits, the demand for ghee in the market has made its purity a concern, as the ghee available in the market can often be adulterated. This adulteration can reduce the health benefits of desi ghee and also pose a risk to health. Today, through this article, we will tell you how you can find out whether ghee is real or fake
Water test for purity
To check whether ghee is pure or not, take a glass of lukewarm water and add a teaspoon of ghee to it. Stir the mixture slowly. Pure desi ghee will melt in water, mix easily and float like oil. On the other hand, adulterated ghee may not melt completely or dissolve properly.
Colour and texture test
Adulterated ghee often appears whiter and smoother than its counterpart. Pure ghee usually has a pale yellow colour and a less smooth texture.
Iodine solution test
Using iodine solution is an effective way to check for adulteration. In a bowl of ghee, add a few drops of iodine solution and mix. If the colour of the ghee changes, it may indicate the presence of adulteration.
