The textile workers there suffered huge losses during industrialization in the 1930s when they sought refuge in Ganapati. He was later given a piece of land. People considered it as Bappa's blessing and from then onwards they dedicated a part of that land to Ganpati Puja. The Kambli family has taken the responsibility of making the statue of Lalbaugcha Raja. From 1934 till today, these families have made and maintained the idol of Ganapati of Lalbagh. He has also got the design patent of this idol of Ganapati.
