The Central Government started the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana in the year 2019. The objective of the government was to provide economic benefits to small marginal farmers. All farmers between the age of 18 to 40 years can take advantage of this scheme. Different premiums have to be paid according to different age stages. Which ranges from Rs 55 to Rs 200. After attaining the age of 60 years, the farmers enrolled in the scheme get Rs 3,000 every month as pension (farmer pension scheme). If the beneficiary farmer taking advantage of this scheme dies due to any reason, then his wife is given half his pension i.e. Rs 1500 every month.

If the husband and wife do not want to continue with the scheme, the total contribution amount along with interest will be returned to them. In such a situation, the benefit of the interest rate applicable to the savings account will be given. If the beneficiaries make regular contributions for 5 years and want to close the scheme after that, then LIC Bank will return the money to the beneficiaries along with interest based on the savings account interest rates.
