Arghya is offered to Lord Sun in Chhath Puja. This is because Surya is the only God who appears directly to us daily. For this reason, worship of the Sun God is also especially fruitful. This time Chhath Mahaparva is going to start from Friday 17th November. Patna's famous Pandit Shashibhushan Pandey said that it is the nature of Suryadev to reach his goal and do selfless work for the welfare of the people. People express gratitude by offering Arghya in the festival of Chhath to the Sun God who makes life possible by providing energy and heat to every living being.

Pandit Shashibhushan Pandey, head priest of Shri Sheetala Mata Temple located in Chhoti Nagla of Patna City, said that on the third day of this four-day Chhath festival i.e. on the evening of Sunday, November 19, Arghya will be offered to the Sun God while setting. Before going to the ghat, devotees decorate the bamboo basket with puja material, seasonal fruits, thekua, kasar, sugarcane, etc. After this, we reach the ghat barefoot from home.

What do the Puranas say about Sun worship?
According to Pandit Shashibhushan Pandey, the mention of Surya has been found since the Vedic period. Suryavanshi Ram also worshiped Surya and so did Surya's son Karna. A large part of this can be seen in the Vedic Puranas. At the same time, Hiuen Tsang has also discussed the attachment of Indians to the Sun in his books. Let us tell you that during Chhath, the paddy crop is harvested and comes to the barn. Food comes to the house. Therefore, this festival after Diwali is celebrated with great enthusiasm. It is considered a great festival of beauty, love, hope, life, and happiness.
