According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri starts from Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month and Mahanavami or Durga Navami occurs on Chaitra Shukla Navami Tithi. On these 9 dates, 9 forms of Maa Durga are worshipped. Then on the next day of Dashami, a havan is performed, although, in many places, a havan is performed on the day of Durgashtami or Mahanavami. Abhijeet Muhurta for installation of Kalash
According to Jyotishacharya Chakrapani Bhatt of Kashi, the afternoon Abhijeet Muhurta is very auspicious for establishing the Kalash, but this year there is no Abhijeet Muhurta on Pratipada Tithi on March 22.
