Bhaiya Dooj 2023: Why do sisters and brothers apply tilak on the forehead on Bhaiya Dooj? Know its importance from an astrologer..

Bhai Dooj festival has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. Every year this festival is celebrated two days after Diwali. This festival is very special like Rakshabandhan. On this day sisters worship for the long life of their brother. Also, wishing for their well-being, she follows all the rules of Bhai Dooj. This festival symbolizes the love and protection of brother and sister. On this day, sisters mark their brothers with Roli and Akshat. It is believed that if worship is done as per the rituals on this day, then the danger of untimely death from the brothers and sisters is averted.

While doing brother's tilak during Bhaidooj, special attention should be paid to the auspicious time. The auspicious time will start from 02:36 pm on 14 November 2023 and end at 01:47 pm on 15 November 2023. Astrologer Pandit Manoj Shukla said that Bhaidooj is known as Bhadra Dwitiya or Yama Dwitiya. The biggest significance of this festival is that this day is celebrated for the sacred relationship between brother and sister. According to ancient stories, Lord Yamraj's sister Yamuna meets her brother on this day after staying away for a long time.

Brother Yamraj reaches sister Yamuna's house in search of her, then sister Yamuna makes Brother Yamraj sit in a beautiful seat and applies tilak to him and performs aarti and feeds him the food prepared with her own hands, due to which Yamraj becomes happy. Yamuna asks for a boon from her brother Yamraj if a sister applies tilak to her brother today and serves food made with her own hands, then you will not harass her. On this Yamraj gives this boon to his sister. Therefore, this day is especially celebrated, and sisters apply tilak to their brothers, perform aarti, and serve food as per their capacity.
