On this day, devotees worship Maa Durga by staying without food or fruits. Kalash will be installed in the house and temple on Pratipada date. This year in the Gupt Navratri of Ashadh month, this time Mata Rani's ride in Gupt Navratri is a horse.

Gupt Navratri will be of 10 days

Four Navratris are celebrated throughout the year. In Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri, nine forms of Mata Durga are worshiped, but in Gupt Navratri, 10 Mahavidyas of Mata Durga are worshiped with tantric method.

Gupt Navratri Puja Rules

Meat, alcohol, garlic and onion should not be consumed at all during Gupt Navratri.

Maa Durga herself is a woman, so women should always be respected. Those who respect women, Maa Durga showers her blessings on them.

There should be no quarrel, hatred or insult in the house during the days of Navratri. It is said that doing so does not bring blessings.

Special care should be taken of cleanliness during Navratri. For nine days, one should take a bath at sunrise and wear clean clothes.

During Navratri, one should not wear black clothes nor wear leather belts or shoes.

It is believed that hair, beard and nails should not be cut during Navratri.

During Navratri, one should sleep on the ground and not on the bed. One should not insult any guest or beggar who comes to the house.

These forms of Maa Durga are worshipped

Maa Kalike, Tara Devi, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Maa Chitramasta, Tripura Bhairavi, Maa Dhumravati, Maa Baglamukhi, Matangi, Kamala Devi are worshipped.

Gupt Navratri Puja Vidhi

Get up early in the morning, retire from all the work and collect all the worship material of Navratri.

Decorate the idol of Maa Durga in a red cloth. Sow barley seeds in an earthen pot and sprinkle water every day till Navami.

Install the Kalash in the auspicious time as per the complete method. In this, first fill the Kalash with Ganga water, put mango leaves on its mouth and place a coconut on it.

Wrap the Kalash with a red cloth and tie it through Kalawa. Now keep it near the earthen pot. Worship with flowers, camphor, incense sticks, jyot.

Chant the mantra related to Maa Durga for nine days and welcome the mother and wish her happiness and prosperity.

On Ashtami or Navami, after Durga Puja, worship nine girls and offer them various dishes (puri, chana, halwa).

On the last day, after Durga Puja, immerse the Ghat, sing the Aarti of the mother, offer her flowers, rice and lift the Kalash from the bed.
