Android Police has said in its report that Find My Device will work even if it is turned off in Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Google's upcoming phones. This update may start coming with the upcoming Android 15.

What is the Find My Device feature?
With the help of the Find My Device feature in Android, users can easily track their lost phone. This is a Bluetooth-based tracking mechanism, which does not work when the smartphone is turned off.

How will the new feature work
To deal with this, the company can introduce Powered Off Finding. This new system will control device memory with precomputed Bluetooth beacons.

However, for this, some changes will have to be made in the hardware of the device, so that the Bluetooth control will continue to get power supply when the phone is switched off. Along with this, Bluetooth Finder will support Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) to share device details.
