Navratri Foods 2022: This year Shardiya Navratri is going to start on 26 September. These days have very special significance for the devotees of Mata. During the nine days of Navratri, fasting can make and eat singhara sheera to keep themselves energized. Along with being light, water chestnut is also very beneficial for health. Sheera made from water chestnut is considered to be very beneficial as well as tasty. As a sweet, it is very much liked in fasting. Today we are going to tell you a very easy recipe to make delicious water chestnut sheera, which will be very useful during fasting.
Ingredients for making Singhade or Water Chestnut Ka Sheera
-Water chestnut - 1 cup
-Desi Ghee - 4 tbsp
-Sugar - 3/4 cup
-Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
-Almond shavings - 1 tbsp
-Pistachio Clipping - 1 tbsp
How to make Singhade Ka Sheera
To keep yourself energetic during the fast, if you are making Singhade ka Sheera, then first put desi ghee in a nonstick pan and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee becomes hot and melts, then add seaweed flour and fry it. Fry the flour for 3-4 minutes while stirring and when the color of the flour becomes golden, then reduce the gas and cook it by adding 2 cups of water to it. During this, turn the gas flame on medium.
While cooking the molasses on a medium flame for 8-10 minutes, keep stirring it in between. Cook it till the water from the molasses dries up. After this add sugar according to taste in the mixer and let the sheera cook for 5-7 minutes more. When a strong fragrance starts coming from the molasses, then add cardamom powder. After this, turn off the gas and take out the sheera in a serving bowl. Serve it garnished with almonds and pistachio shavings.
