Ingredients for Bitter Gourd Thepla
Bitter gourd peeled - 1/2 cup
Millet flour - 1/2/4 cup
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Garlic chopped - 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Green coriander leaves chopped - 2 tbsp
Oil - as required
Salt - as per taste
How to make Bitter Gourd Thepla
To make Thepla prepared from bitter gourd, first of all, peel off the bitter gourd and cut them into fine pieces. After this, take a mixing bowl, add millet flour and wheat flour, and mix it well. After this, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, finely chopped garlic, coriander powder, finely chopped green coriander, and salt according to taste, and mix all the ingredients properly.
Now add little water and knead the dough to make theplas. Keep in mind that the dough is slightly soft to knead. After the dough is ready, make balls out of it and roll the thepla in a circular shape by applying a pan with wheat flour. After this, heat a nonstick pan/tawa on medium flame. Put some oil on it and spread it all around and put the prepared theplas to bake. After some time, turn the theplas over and roast them with oil on the other side. If you want, you can roast it like roti without applying oil.
Thepla is to be roasted till its color becomes golden brown. After this take out the prepared theplas on a plate. Similarly prepare bitter gourd theplas from all the flour one by one. Your nutritious bitter gourd thepla is ready. It can be served with vegetable or chutney.
