Giving information about these monitoring tools, Instagram said in a statement that it is launching a feature called Family Center on its platform, with the help of which parents of children can access their activities through monitoring tools.

Meta-owned Instagram said the move is a way to empower parents and keep teen users safe during online activities. Instagram has taken this step amid global criticism over the ill-effects of social media on youth and adolescents.

Instagram said in a statement that Meta has been working closely with India's experts, parents, guardians and youth. This helped in understanding their needs.
