Diwali: This Diwali you can visit the oldest Laxmi Narayan temple located in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. This is a very ancient temple and it has a lot of recognition. Laxmi Narayan temple of the 10th century
Laxmi Narayan Temple dates back to the 10th century. Due to being so ancient, this temple has a lot of recognition. It is counted among the oldest temples of the Chamba region. The temple was built by King Sahil Varman during his reign between 920 and 940 AD. There are a total of 6 shrines in the temple which have idols of Hindu deities. This temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Goddess Gauri and Mother Radha are also worshiped here. The main idol in this temple is Lord Vishnu, which is made of rare marble.

The temple is built with wooden umbrellas and a terrace. This is called the peak style. The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu. The temple also has a metal sculpture of the bird Garuda. The rest of the temples built in this temple complex have been built later. It is said that King Sahil Varman sacrificed his eight sons for the rare marble statue of Lord Vishnu installed in this temple. This idol of Lord Vishnu is quadrilateral. This idol is said to have been brought from Vindhyachal mountain. This Diwali you can visit this ancient temple.
