Ingredients to make Besan Sheera
Gram flour – 4 tbsp
Desi ghee - 1 tbsp
Milk - 2 cups
Sugar/Jaggery – 3 tsp
cardamom powder - 1
Ajwain – 1/4 tsp
Green coriander - 1 tbsp
Turmeric - 1 pinch
How to make Besan Sheera
To make nutritious Punjabi-style Besan Sheera, first put ghee in a pan and keep it on medium flame to heat. When the ghee melts, add gram flour and roast it with the help of a spoon. During this slow down the flame. Roast the gram flour till it turns light brown. In the meantime, when the aroma starts coming from the gram flour, add crushed cardamom, celery, turmeric, and jaggery to it and mix well.
After cooking this mixture for about 1 minute, add milk to it and mix it well with the gram flour mixture while stirring with a spoon. After this, cook this mixture while stirring continuously. Keep in mind that to eliminate lumps of gram flour in molasses, stir continuously. Now boil the molasses for about 5 minutes and after that add finely chopped green coriander to the molasses. After this turn off the gas. Rich in taste and nutritious gram flour sheera is ready. Pour it into a serving bowl and serve it hot.
