Ingredients for Aloo Tikki Chaat
Potato boiled - 4-5
Corn Flour - 2 tbsp
Chana dal - 3-4 tbsp
Amchur - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Green chili - 1
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Green chutney - 1/4 cup
Date-tamarind chutney - 1/2 tsp
Curd whipped - 1/2 cup
Chaat masala powder - 2 pinch
Onion finely chopped - 1/2 cup
Sev - 1/2 cup
Green coriander leaves - 2-3 tbsp
Salt - as per taste
How to make Aloo Tikki Chaat
To make Aloo Tikki Chaat, first, clean the chana dal and soak it in water for 2-3 hours. After the stipulated time, take out the extra water from the lentils, put it in a pressure cooker, add a little salt and three-fourths of water and apply 2 whistles. After that let the cooker cool down. When the pressure of the cooker is released automatically, take out the boiled dal in a sieve, and after that keep the dal cool down.
Now put the boiled gram dal in a mixing bowl. After this, add mango, garam masala, red chili powder, and a pinch of salt to the lentils and mix them all well. Your stuffing is ready. After this, boil the potatoes, take off their peels and put them in a vessel, and mash them. Now add chopped green chilies, cornflour, lemon juice, and a little salt to the potatoes and mix them well.
Now divide all the mixture into equal parts. After this, first, give each part the shape of a ball and then press it with the palms to make it like a bowl. After this, fill it with the stuffing of chana dal. After this, prepare the Tikki by closing the stuffing from all sides. Similarly, prepare all the aloo tikkis one by one. After this, take a nonstick pan and heat it on medium flame.
When the pan becomes hot, pour some oil on it and spread it all around. After this, roast 5-6 tikkis in the pan. When their color turns golden brown, then flip and cook the other side in the same way. After this, take out the tikkis on a plate. Similarly, roast all the potato tikkis well. After this put the Tikki in the serving bowl and crack it. After this add green chutney and tamarind chutney on top. Then serve Aloo Tikki Chaat by adding whipped curd, finely chopped onion, sev, and chaat masala.
