Huma Qureshi will play the role of India's first home chef, Tarla Dalal. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari, Epic Food Filler will be directed by Piyush Gupta. Talking about the decision to make this biopic on the late chef Tarla and her life, producer Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari says, “The story of Tarla is much more than just being an iconic chef. This is the story of a working mother who single-handedly changed the face of vegetarian cooking in India and paved the way for many such home cooks and startups to fulfill their dreams. Huma says, 'Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood. My mother had a copy of her book in the kitchen and often tried her recipes for my school tiffin. I also vividly remember the time when I helped my mother make Tarla's homemade mango ice cream. This role has brought me back to my childhood fond memories and I am very grateful to Ronnie, Ashwini, and Nitesh for believing in me to play this inspiring character.
